About

writing

dotted i was formed in 2013 to establish a clearinghouse of writing and fundraising services for non-profits in the greater Omaha area.

Too many organizations divert time and energy away from direct services to handle fundraising and publicity and while large organizations may have the infrastructure to employ dedicated staff who can provide these services, many smaller organizations cannot.

dotted i seeks to become a supplement to area agencies who need the funds to maintain their mission and grow. We currently offer services for grant writing, fundraising, public relations and fundraising consulting.

Mission

dotted i pushes nonprofit organization to obtain funding and increase visibility in order to better carry out their missions and positively impact the lives of those in need in our communities. Our motto is "Writing For What's Right" because if you have a super power, you should use it to make the world a better place.

For over a decade, Natalie Simmonds has worked in and around the non-profit and arts community wearing a number of hats ranging from grant writer, public relations manager, event producer, fundraiser, program manager, and overall non-profit manager.

She is passionate about writing, fundraising, and advocating for organizations that increase the well-being of the populations they serve. She's worked with business organizations, institutions of higher education, arts organizations, geriatric care programs, youth-serving education services, disability organizations, and more.

Natalie graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a double major in English in Communication. She earned her Master of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2012.

As the Founder and Senior Writer of dotted i, Natalie Simmonds plays a hands-on role in each and every dotted i project.  She conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage all aspects of grant proposals, funder requirements, and grant reports for a variety of nonprofit causes and organizations. But it doesn't stop there. Press releases, general copywriting, and social justice blogging all fall under her purview. The long and short of it: if you need to talk about the good you are doing in the world, Natalie and dotted i have you covered.

When Natalie's not writing and fundraising for the organizations she loves, she can be found playing with her two dachshunds (Hannah & Wrigley), walking,  wearing red shoes,  playing tennis, listening to her favorite music at an unreasonable volume, and scouting out the latest and greatest dining establishments with friends.
